Flims, Laax and Falera, the most beautiful spots

Starting at the valley station Flims, the route goes along the Flem river into the Flims forest and to the Il Spir viewing platform. From here you have the best view of the impressive Rhine Gorge, which the Rhine cut during the Flims rockslide about 9,500 years ago, creating this unique landscape. The first ascent of the day leads leisurely through the cool forest to the crystal-clear Caumasee, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland. Especially in spring, it's worth taking a short break here, and early in the morning, you are often completely alone to enjoy the silence.

From Caumasee, the route goes up and over Laax Murschetg, where you can stop to refresh yourself if needed before tackling the ascent to Falera.

The ascent to Falera offers a unique view of the Surselva mountain scenery. Upon arrival in Falera, Parc la Mutta invites you to linger, and the fireplace near the St. Remigius church provides optimal conditions for a BBQ with a view of the Signina group. Those interested in culture can learn about Falera and its settlement history in Parc la Mutta and discover more about the legend of the laughing megalithic figure. The descent along the wide agricultural road leads directly to Laax; a short detour to Ustria Lags offers another opportunity to stop. From there, it goes back to the starting point in Flims.

In good weather, it is advisable to bring swimwear, as there are fountains with fresh spring water along the route.
