E-Bike Tamina valley

On the former access road, which is closed to motorized traffic, the easy tour masters the ascent into the Tamina Valley to Valens. The rehabilitation centre there is one of the leading rehabilitation clinics in Switzerland and specialises in the treatment of functional disorders of the motor apparatus and nervous system. With a view of the imposing Tamina Bridge - an arch bridge with a span of 270 m - and into the depths of the Tamina Gorge , the tour makes a loop over Vasön and the Mapragg reservoir. The water from this balancing basin, which has already been used to produce electricity, can be pumped back into the higher-lying Gigerwald reservoir during periods of low electricity consumption and reused to produce electricity if necessary. In Pfäfers, the baroque monastery church and the Cristo statue at Wartenstein Castle as well as wonderful views of the Graubünden Rhine Valley accompany the rapid descent down to Bad Ragaz back to the Tamina Therme.
