Domleschg

From the post bus stop on the outskirts of Tomils, we follow the road uphill for a very short time. After the tight bend, we turn right into a natural path and soon come to Dusch with its old houses through rural seclusion. An easy path circles a wooded hill. On a tree, a nostalgic signpost points to the right to the Romanesque Magdalene Chapel. It is located in the clearing of a larch grove. The narrow shortcut is quite steep. That's why we walk back the short, beautiful section of the path, cross Dusch and hike past the sedate Buol farm, built in 1664, towards Paspels. At the first next house on the right side of the road, we turn left and cross a meadow plan. The following forest section is also of gentle silence. In a clearing, a willow fountain rustles and a bench waits.

The painter and sculptor Robert Indermaur lived and worked in Mulegns, some of his works are outdoors. They delight us with their restrained, not always harmless humor. Indermaur is - for example - the creator of the unforgettable group of figures in Thusis station, a large painting in the Chur cantonal school and many, many other works. A wide path now descends through meadows to Almens. The entire upper Domleschg is at our feet. The Piz Beverin unfolds its beauty. Strengthened by a snack in the Landhus restaurant in Almens, we hike through the romantic Heckenweg to Scharans.
