Beschreibung
It is exciting to stand at the top edge of the Bova Gronda! Here, a mighty rockfall caused great devastation in 1689. It destroyed the hamlets of Brulf and Valentin and claimed 22 lives. For three hours, the landslide dammed the Rhine; fortunately, there was no flood wave.
After this break-off, the forest gradually thins out and we hike through alpine rose bushes until we arrive at the rounded crest of Alp Soliva. The view is fantastic, the glaciers of the Oberalpstock and the Tödi are flashing.
On the way again, we hike downhill past Alp Soliva, a shady forest follows and soon we see the houses of Soliva. From Curaglia the post bus takes us back to Disentis.
Geheimtipp
Let a taxi take you to Cavardiras. It shortens the tour by about 1 hour
Ausrüstung
Hiking equipment. Sticks are helpful when descending.
Wegbeschreibung
From Disentis train station we follow the road to Cavardiras. Here the forest road to Caischavedra begins, from where a hiking trail leads to Alp Soliva. At the highest point at 2178 we take the path downhill, passing the alpine hut. Before we reach the forest we continue in the same direction to Soliva. Below the chapel the hiking trail leads down to Curaglia.
