Cinema Sil Plaz, Ilanz

The association Cinema Sil Plaz enriched the region with a contemporary platform for film, concerts, cabaret and literature. From avant-garde films to blockbusters, local, expatriate and foreign artists – the selected program spoils the most diverse tastes.

But also the location impresses. The old forge in the city center is equipped after a conversion with bar, stage for concerts and cabaret and cinema room. The raw character of the forge was preserved. In the cinema room, the members of the association themselves lend a hand and, together with a clay construction specialist, created a unique room whose walls create a special atmosphere with a rammed earth construction.

Even before the reopening, this conversion concept received the Federal Art Prize in the field of architecture. And in December 2010, "Hochparterre Schweiz" awarded Cinema sil Plaz the "Golden Hare" for the best architectural project 2010.
