The Carolingian Urbarium from around 840 mentions a St. Victor's Church. It was re-consecrated in 1504 as a branch of the parish church of St. Mary. There are no longer any recognizable parts of the original or medieval building. The present chapel dates back to a new building, which was consecrated - with an altar - on June 27, 1704.Building description: Northeast-facing, uniformly baroque, well-proportioned building with a choir closed on three sides and a two-bay nave, both vaulted with a barrel vault. The nave is lit by square windows below the entablature. The tower only rises above the north-east corner of the nave at eaves height. Semicircular closed sound windows. Lashings and pointed spire.Interior decoration: stucco medallions with artless paintings. The altar is a stucco aedicule from 1704 with an altarpiece from the first half of the 17th century with Latin inscriptions. In front of it is a baroque Pietà from the 17th century.Bells: With inscriptions. One of the bells is one of the oldest in the entire canton, dating from around 1200. It dates from around 1200 and there is a very similar bell in S. Vittore, Misox. The barons of Sax-Misox ruled over the Lugnez until 1486 and it is said that these lords brought the bell to Degen as a gift.
