The family in Marca, documented since the second half of the fourteenth century, invited the archbishop of Milan Carlo Borromeo to visit the Mesolcina and the Calanca 428 years ago. Borromeo's visit marked the spiritual and cultural history of Moesano. In the villages of Mesolcina there are still traces of the passage of Carlo Borromeo: churches, chapels, works of art, altars and named places.
