Inside the Chapel of St. Philip there are unique frescoes known for their uniqueness and extraordinary beauty. The fresco above the altar depicts the Holy Spirit with a dove, surrounded by angels rising from the clouds. The originally pink angels are darkened by the chemical transformation of lead white, a white pigment that was widely used until the 20th century. was widely used in the nineteenth century. Lead white is a basic lead carbonate, and over time it has been discovered that when the outer layer interacts with substances in the air, it turns into lead sulfide, which has a very dark color. The air pollution has therefore changed the work, so that the angels are almost black and the Holy Spirit is more like a blackbird than a dove.
