Burgruine Putnengia

The castle is only mentioned once in a document: in 1300, Abbot Nicholas of Disenti transferred serfs to Wettingen Abbey: ... ante castrum Bultringen. The von Pontaningen family can be traced back to the middle of the 16th century. Mainly the remains of a tower made of quarry stone walls in the form of an irregular square with a side length of about 6 meters have been preserved. The east and south walls have fallen apart considerably. Beam holes on the northern outer wall indicate that a low building was based on the tower. The tower, which is still 7 metres high on the north wall, is separated from the foreground by a 2.5 metre wide and approximately 3 metre deep ditch carved out of the rock. The northwestern corner of the wall is heavily eroded, presumably the strong cornerstones were used for construction purposes.

Summer: When the meadows are mowed you can reach the ruins on foot via the open field in a few minutes

Winter: If you are on cross-country skis, you can get very close to the ruins.
