Event Arosa Lenzerheide
Benefizkonzert
Beschreibung
Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, often referred to as Sri Swamiji, is known in India as one of the great masters of traditional yoga teachings. Outside of India, he reaches audiences with his special charity concerts, which he has been holding for nearly forty years in churches, school auditoriums, or renowned concert halls such as the Zurich Tonhalle, the Sydney Opera House, and the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Each meditation concert by Sri Swamiji has a unique name. The name of this concert in Lenzerheide, "Antar Mukha Raga Sagara," means something like the opening to an (inner) ocean of sounds.
Sri Swamiji's music is unique. It is based on Indian ragas (melodies) and talas (rhythms). He also calls it "Music for Meditation and Healing." With the synthesizer, he mimics the sounds of various instruments. At times, they remind the listener of the diverse sounds of nature and the elements. In his music, he emphasizes the effect and experience of each individual tone.
He is accompanied by the Celestial Message Troupe, four magnificent Indian musicians on violin, flute, mrdangam, and tabla. The interplay with the musician ensemble features a shift between virtuosic and demanding solos and melodic, sometimes lively and cheerful passages that invite the audience to relax.
Sri Swamiji's music is timeless. It reveals its invigorating power when the listeners engage with it without analyzing it.
The proceeds from the charity concert in Lenzerheide benefit the various humanitarian and social institutions founded by Sri Swamiji at the Avadhoota Datta Peethams in India, such as the hospital, primary schools, the school for speech-impaired children, or food donations.
