Beschreibung

No big ascents or descents, no technical difficulties, but lots of nature and views: The medium version of the Alpöhi Trail is a trail run to enjoy. Especially the Wangsersee on the way and the far-reaching views of the Rhine Valley and on nice days as far as Lake Constance make up the charm of this trail. In addition, the trail also allows for spontaneous variations: If you want to stretch your feet into the fresh Vilterser Seeli and get a well-deserved cooling, you can walk at the junction towards Vilterser See. This is clearly visible, reachable after 300 linear metres and 111 m elevation gain. Follow the same path back until you get back to the original route. This route can also be planned from Wangs (with gondola and chairlift to the Pizolhütte and from there in the direction of the Höhenweg/Wangsersee).

Geheimtipp

At Pizol, trail running workshops take place on various dates. Accompanied by certified running guides and professional athletes.

Sicherheitshinweis

Technically, the trail is easy, increased attention is required when running in poor visibility or wet weather.

Ausrüstung

Normal trail running equipment (trail shoes recommended everywhere). Take enough food and drink with you (self-catering principle). Maps and natel with good reception.

Wegbeschreibung

From Bad Ragaz we take the gondola lift to Pardiel and then take the chairlift to Laufböden. At the restaurant Laufbodenstübli is the hiking trail, which we follow in the direction of Höhenweg/Wangsersee. The well-developed hiking trail is ideal for running in. At the Vilterser Seeli junction we walk right towards the valley. This trail leads us downhill until we come above the lake to the marker, which points back towards the running floors. From now on it goes on a somewhat wilder trail steadily upwards back to our starting point to Laufböden.
