Alpine trail in Mels

Mels is the largest municipality in the canton of St.Gallen in terms of area. The area extends mainly in the Weistannental valley and the plateaus above. These pre-Alpine mountain pastures have been used for food production by people from various regions since time immemorial. What remains are 24 Alps of a wide variety of history, ownership, size and management.
On a short circular trail along the Seez, there are interesting facts about each alp on picture and text boards. In addition to the interesting information, this path, which leads through forest, alpine meadows and torrents, is wonderfully embedded in a wildly romantic landscape.
