Beschreibung
The route starts in Arosa and leads in the first kilometers on a well-developed forest path past the turquoise-blue Isel reservoir over Litzirüti to Langwies. Below the Langwies railway viaduct, the path rises steadily past the mountain village Langwies through the valley of the Fondeierbach. A break at the two mountain guesthouses of the old Walser settlement Strassberg is worthwhile before the final spurt over moor and meadowland to the Grünsee at Durannapass. The descent with the same character follows via Schifer and Cavadürli to above Klosters. Then an ascent follows in the direction of Davos. From Davos, the landscape changes. First, there is an intense climb of almost 700 meters in altitude via a toll road to the level of the middle station of the Parsenn cable car to master. For this, the traverse to the Strelapass through the rock gallery rewards with a wide-ranging panoramic view. It is also a good opportunity to eat a delicious cake, for example, in the Strelapass restaurant. From the pass, the way goes over a single trail back to the Schanfigg on the other side. A demanding descent leads from the rocky pass area into the lush green Sapüner valley with traditional Walser settlements before the finale from Langwies uphill to Arosa awaits.
Geheimtipp
Stop at the mountain guesthouse Strassberg.
Sicherheitshinweis
In the Davos Klosters destination, there are many alpine farms with cattle. Therefore, it is to be expected to encounter animals everywhere. We ask for appropriate consideration and also to ride the terrain at an adapted speed.
