Old on young - how is that possible?

Along the magic line, 250-300 million years old rocks lie on top of almost 100 to 200 million younger rocks - how is this possible? This has been a mystery since the dawn of research in the field. Today we know that during the formation of the Alps, several kilometres deep in the earth's interior, huge packs of rock, so-called blankets, were pushed on top of each other.
