Tschinglenhörner und Martinsloch Flims
The Martinsloch is a breakthrough in the Tschingelhörner Alps chain southeast of Elm in the canton of Glarus (Switzerland) in the form of a triangle about 19 meters wide and about 22 meters high.

Beschreibung

The Martinsloch at 2600 meters above sea level in the middle of the Tschingelhörner in Flims is probably the most famous rock window in the UNESCO Tectonic Arena Sardona area. The 22 meter high and 19 meter wide triangle became famous due to a very special event: on March 12th and 13th as well as on September 30th and October 1st, the sun shines directly on the church from the Martinsloch shortly before rising village of Elm behind. The spectacle only lasts a few minutes, after which the sun disappears behind the Tschingelhörner and then rises.
