The chapel, with its eye-catching tower with the large dial and the painted ashlar stones, stands slightly elevated in the middle of the small hamlet of Surin.

Beschreibung

The chapel is open daily.

Its tower from 1690 with its strikingly large dial (2) and painted ashlar stones marks the centre of the hamlet.

Shortly after the new building was built, the three rococo altars in the choir (3) were inaugurated around 1700. The half-figure of the church's patron saint stands in the high altar on a blue background. St. Nicholas, as a bishop, carries in his hand the Bible with the three golden balls on it (4). The scene of the Annunciation is almost overlooked: on the far left is the panel with the kneeling Mary (5), on the far right appears the angel Gabriel (6); an original solution.

Equally original is the pulpit from 1630 (7). Where in the canton do herms (pillars with attached head and shoulder) adorn the body? In between, the four evangelists are half-figures on a blue background.

In the vestibule, we would like to point out the coat of arms on the left side, which was donated to the Surines by Bishop Christianus Caminada.
