Dutjer Alp - Grossartige Aussicht

The Walser settlement of Ober Dutjen, located high above the Rhine Gorge, can be reached via a good road from Valendas. From the small car park at the end of the hamlet, you follow the dirt road mostly horizontally, past a large high moor and a lovely landscape with many mountain huts and stables. At the P. 1533 m junction, keep left and climb up the path to Alp da Riein. Here the view opens up into the Val Lumnezia. Over alpine meadows, you continue to follow the ridge and the tracks to the Dutjer Alp, where the silence invites you to linger and have a picnic. The descent leads through a gnarled mountain forest, where some spruce trees are well over 200 years old.
The circular hike is characterised by a magnificent view over the Anterior Rhine Valley from Chur far up into the Graubünden Oberland. The Flims landslide area with the imposing Rhine Gorge lies directly at the hiker's feet!
