This snowshoe tour on the Camaner Ridge is one of many possibilities that lead to the wide ridge. The route leads over ideal snowshoe terrain and promises a great experience in the middle Safien Valley.

The tour starts on the valley road at Under Camana. This is where the post bus stop is located. Alternatively, you can go to Ober Camana by car and take a shortened tour.
Past tanned stables, some of which are still or again covered with shingles, the tour leads in the direction of Ober Camana. Here you will find a largely intact Walser scattered settlement. The following wide slopes invite you to freely interpret the exact route. Depending on the avalanche conditions, this is also possible without any problems. The ideal snowshoe slopes allow your gaze to wander freely. The surrounding mountains in this part of the Safien Valley offer more than enough opportunities for this.
We have chosen point 2397 for this tour. But there are many more available. On the one hand, the Camaner Grat offers a very impressive view down the north side and over a large part of the Surselva. On the other hand, there is a far-reaching view of the rocky neighbouring mountains in the Safiental.
The descent is via a loop next to the exit track. From Ober Camana, the route runs along the track laid out in the morning back to the valley road.

If you are travelling by car, you can have something to eat on the sun terrace at the Hotel Camana after the tour. The restaurant is located in the old schoolhouse in Camanaboda.

Anreise Information
From Versam village via the valley road to Safien Platz and on to Ober Camana. There are no parking facilities on Talstrasse. If you arrive by car, you have to start the tour from Upper Camana.
