Located in the Grisons Oberland, on the route Ilanz - Vals you will find the small village of Surcasti, which belongs to the municipality of Lumnezia. Here the Derungs-Loretz family manages their farm with dairy and suckler cows. They drink the milk of their cows directly to their fattening calves, which are kept under IP-Suisse guidelines and are mostly marketed under the TerraSuisse label at Migros. Their suckler cow calves are sold as NaturaVeal at the Coop. All their cows are allowed to spend the summer on the alp. In addition to the cattle, they also keep some chickens for their own use and for sale in their own farm shop. In autumn, alpine pigs still spend the fattening time with them on the farm.
In their small farm shop you will find all kinds of specialties from the meat of their own animals, to the fine alpine cheese, to the self-made jams and syrups. Most of their offer can even be ordered via the Internet and easily delivered to your home.
