A contrasting hike. From the sunny plain, with later views of the entire valley, to snow-covered forests, this winter hike offers you a varied landscape.

Beschreibung
You start at the valley station Waltensburg and head onto the Winter Hiking Trail 11 towards Brigels (Brigels village). Follow the path until you reach the reservoir in Brigels. You now have the option to circle the lake on Winter Hiking Trail 8 or simply turn left to cross the dam on Winter Hiking Trail 9. Follow Winter Hiking Trail 9 until you reach the asphalt road which leads down to the village on the right. After about 250 meters you will arrive at the "Volg". From there, go left along the main road to the Hotel Kistenpass. Attention: Here take the left road towards "Crest la Crusch". Once on this road, follow it until you reach Winter Hiking Trail 11. Now you may follow Winter Hiking Trail 11 to Waltensburg. When you reach the village, walk to the crossroads which goes left up to the valley station Waltensburg, where you started your hike.
Geheimtipp
You can also start this route from Brigels. If you want to complement the hike with a cultural visit, the with its famous frescoes by the "Waltensburg Master" is recommended.

Sicherheitshinweis
The route should not be started in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes in the mountains are common. If a bad weather front or something similar arises during the hike, you should turn back in good time.
Ausrüstung
Provision with hot drinks, high and sturdy walking shoes or winter boots, warm clothing, sun protection, trekking poles advantageous.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Train station Ilanz/Glion. Continue by bus to Waltensburg/Vuorz. Get off at the Waltensburg/Vuorz, Ucliva stop. More information on the schedule can be found on the SBB website: www.sbb.ch.
Anreise Information
Main road (no. 19). Turnoff Waltensburg/Vuorz. Follow the road to the valley station Waltensburg/Vuorz.
Parken
In winter, the parking lots at the valley stations in Breil-vitg and Waltensburg/Vuorz are chargeable in zone 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for day guests and in zone 2 from 00:00 to 24:00 for Maiensäss owners and guests. The first 30 minutes are free. Parking fees can be paid via the ParkingPay app, at the central parking meters, and for zone 2 at the cash desks of the valley stations. The ski buses in Brigels and Waltensburg remain free. Information and prices can be found at www.brigels-bergbahnen.ch.
